Northern Rock PPI Claims

If you are concerned about how your Payment Protection Insurance (PPI) Policy was sold by the former Northern Rock Building Society, then we have the information you need about how to make your Northern Rock claim.

Northern Rock Building Society was based in the north of England with a strong customer base on Tyneside and surrounding area. Northern Rock was one of the many building societies that took the option of demutualisation in order to increase profits. However it found that it was too exposed to the financial pressures around the 2008 sub prime mortgage crisis and in the end had to be rescued by the UK Government to stop it from going out of business altogether with the attendant hardship to the region.

Prior to 2008 many people had taken out PPI alongside their Northern Rock mortgage or other loan and some of these people may well have been victims of mis-selling by building society.

If you were a customer of Northern Rock then you may well have a valid claim for a refund of PPI due to you. This could apply if you were not aware that PPI was included or if you were not entitled to claim under the policy due to your employment status or health history. Claims for PPI are being handled by Northern Rock Asset Management (NRAM) You can send a PPI claim form to:

You don't have to download our PPI form with the attendant risks of downloading something harmful to your PC - just copy and paste our forms into a Word Document and away you go!

Make sure you keep a copy of everything you send to the bank or other lender and it's always best to send it by registered post.

It is important that making PPI claims from Northern Rock are only possible if either you did not agree to the service, or want or need it. In some instances people have agreed to use and pay for the service, but after their loan agreement finished, they realised that they did not need it or use it. Just because you did not use it during the period, does not necessarily mean that they are due a refund of any kind, so it is important that you speak to a PPI advisor who can offer advice on whether a claim can be made.
